Menu Update: This week features applesauce for Green Bay's Monday breakfast, peas for all schools on Tuesday, and mozzarella sticks replacing corn dogs at Green Bay on Thursday.
Mrs. Dora King, recently retired from her 13 years as Chair of the D187 Independent Authority, was awarded the Thomas Lay Burroughs Award for outstanding school board service in Illinois by the Chair of the State Board of Education, Dr. Steven Isoye. State Superintendent, Dr. Tony Sanders, Dr. Isoye, and the rest of the State Board of Education were incredibly complimentary of Mrs. King and D187 Superintendent Dr. John Price for their leadership and effectiveness in completely turning the district around since the state takeover.

Mrs. Dora King, recently retired Chair of the D187 Independent Authority, was honored by the Illinois State Board of Education in Springfield this morning. Mrs. King received the Thomas Lay Burroughs Award given annually to one outstanding member of an Illinois school board. Mrs. King was joined by her husband, daughter, and one of her sons as well as D187 Superintendent Dr. John Price.

Important Reminder for NCCHS Families: North Chicago Community High School (NCCHS) Finals Week is scheduled for next week, Monday, December 15th, through Friday, December 19th. We strongly encourage all high school students to use this time for dedicated review, to meet with teachers for last-minute support, and to ensure they get adequate rest. Your support at home is vital for helping our students!

Power is out at Green Bay School (downed line). ComEd estimates 2+ hours for repair. All safe. Due to heat concerns, we are dismissing all students on the regular Wednesday schedule at 1:45 PM. Please pick up students/buses will leave at 1:45 PM. We'll update you re: tomorrow's schedule.
