It's been an exciting start at North Chicago Community High School, with successful events ranging from Homecoming and a Pep Assembly to a College and Career Fair. The NCCP Family CARE Closet (FCC) is a pantry for D187 families, offering free food (nonperishable, fresh, frozen), hygiene, & educational items. Visit twice monthly at NCCHS (1717 17th St). Open Thursdays (when school is in session) from 9-11 AM & 1:30-4 PM.

Another example of D187 schools empowering students and graduates to write their own success stories! The YouthBuild Lake County Pre-Apprenticeship program provides high school graduates with the opportunity to acquire skills and certifications, thereby enhancing their competitiveness for union positions and careers in the building trades. NCCHS has significantly promoted this program for graduates pursuing this career path. Four 2025 NCCHS graduates were among the 18 graduates of the 2025 cohort. The four NCCHS graduates were Jerell Howliet, Raul Chacon, De'Shawn Roach, and Aritreyus Willimas. Raul Chacon was also selected by his peers to give the Trainee Reflection speech. Congratulations!
