Welcome to February, D187!

This month is packed with important events as we move into the second half of the school year. From parent-teacher conferences and academic testing to athletic games and school spirit events, there is a lot happening across the district. Be sure to mark your calendars with these key dates.

Important Dates to Remember

District-Wide & Special Events:

  • February 2: Picture Day at Green Bay Early Childhood Center (GBECC).

  • February 11: "YOU - Your Child's First Teacher" Workshop (Healthy Relationships) in Spanish via Google Meet at 5:00 PM.

  • February 13: 3rd Quarter Progress Reports sent home for A.J. Katzenmaier, Alexander, and other schools.

  • February 16: Non-Attendance Day (District Closed) in observance of Presidents' Day.

  • February 19: "Rise!" Performance at A.J. Katzenmaier from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (Dress Rehearsal on Feb 17).

  • February 24: IA-FOP Joint Board Meeting via Zoom from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

First Days & Testing:

  • February 2 - February 6: ACCESS Testing at NCCHS (9:00 AM – 3:30 PM daily).

Parent-Teacher Conferences & Early Dismissals:

  • February 4, 11, 18, 25: Weekly Early Dismissal (Wednesdays).

    • Forrestal/Alexander: 1:45 PM

    • NCCHS/AJK: Follow standard early dismissal schedules.

  • February 26: Student Half Day

    • Dismissal: 11:00 AM (PreK-5) / 11:30 AM (6-12).

    • Parent-Teacher Conferences: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM (PreK-5) / 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM (6-12).

  • February 27: Non-Attendance Day (Students) for continued Parent-Teacher Conferences (8:00 AM – 11:00 AM).

High School Athletics (NCCHS):

  • February 3: Boys Basketball vs. Grayslake Central (Home) - Frosh/Soph at 5:30 PM, Varsity at 7:00 PM.

  • February 4: Girls Basketball vs. Grayslake North (Home) - JV at 5:30 PM, Varsity (Senior Night) at 7:00 PM.

  • February 6: Boys Basketball vs. Lakes Community (Away) - Frosh/Soph at 5:30 PM, Varsity at 7:00 PM.

  • February 7: Girls Basketball vs. Round Lake (Away) starting at 10:30 AM; Boys Basketball vs. Marian Central Catholic (Home) starting at 1:00 PM.

  • February 10: Boys Basketball vs. Grayslake North (Home) - Varsity Senior Night at 7:00 PM.

  • February 13: Boys Basketball vs. Round Lake (Away) - Frosh/Soph at 5:30 PM, Varsity at 7:00 PM.

  • February 17: Boys Basketball vs. Wauconda (Away) - Frosh/Soph at 5:30 PM, Varsity at 7:00 PM.

Professional Development & Staff Meetings:

  • February 2, 9, 17, 23: Lesson Plans due for NCCHS staff (12:00 PM).

  • February 5, 12, 19, 26: Core Content Department PLCs (8:05 AM).

  • February 13: Institute Day for No Tech Campus Classes (12:30 PM – 4:00 PM).

  • February 26: District Institute Day (Starts after student dismissal).
