On January 16, 2017 Governor Rauner signed into law Public Act 99-0922 (SB-550) which amended the Plumbing Licensing Law (225 ILCS 320/35.5). The amendment requires that schools in Illinois test all potable (drinking) water sources in all buildings served by children in pre-kindergarten through grade 5. All Illinois Schools are further required to notify parents and legal guardians of the results of the testing.
