The Independent Authority and the Financial Oversight Panel for North Chicago Community Unit School District 187 will hold a public hearing on the renewal of the 3-year e-Learning Plan for the school district. Public members are invited to attend the hearing and provide input on the e-Learning Plan. Date and Time: Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 6:00 pm. Location: North Chicago Community High School, 1717 17th Street, North Chicago. A copy of the 3 Year e-Learning Plan is also available for public review at the district office, 2000 Lewis Avenue, North Chicago, IL 60064.

Dear Forrestal Parents, Due to the extreme heat expected tomorrow and current facility conditions, Forrestal Elementary will be closed on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Bus service for the school is canceled for the day. All other District 187 schools will be open. Because we understand some of our families may need access to a cool space during the day, Forrestal will remain open during regular school hours (8 a.m. - 3 p.m.) for Forrestal children and families. Air-conditioned spaces such as the cafeteria will be available. In addition, the North Chicago Community High School Auditorium will be available from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. for Forrestal children and families.
