Dear Hero, Educator, Parents and Mentors:
We are excited to invite you to participate in an upcoming Parent/Hero Academy designed to inspire and support parents or mentors of Black young men on their journey toward a career in medicine. Key information:
When: 2025: January 11, February 1, March 8, April 5, April 12th. Saturdays 10a-12p.
Where: Rosalind Franklin University campus,
3333
Green Bay Road in North Chicago.
Click
here to register by December 20th.
As we work toward increasing representation in the medical field, we recognize that Black men have historically been underrepresented in healthcare professions. This program aims to address that gap by providing mentorship, guidance and educational resources that empower the parents of Black young men to pursue careers in medicine with confidence and purpose.
Throughout the Academy, you will have the opportunity to engage with professionals in the medical field, learn about various pathways to a medical career, and gain insight into the academic and personal preparation needed to succeed. Our goal is to ensure that these future leaders have the support they need to navigate the challenges and seize the opportunities that lie ahead in this rewarding field.
We believe that fostering diversity within medicine is essential for a healthier, more inclusive society. By encouraging more Black men to enter the field, we are not only increasing representation but also ensuring that healthcare systems better reflect and serve the communities they aim to support.
If you are interested in learning more about this exciting opportunity, please donāt hesitate to reach out. We would be honored to have you be part of this transformative journey.
Thank you for considering this important opportunity. We look forward to welcoming you to the Parent / Hero Academy. Please see the link for our FLIER below.
